Andy and Jenny O'Neill

Andy & Jenny O'Neill

Andy O’Neill started coming to Berwick when he was seven years old and has only missed a few summers since. An ordained minister in the United Church of Canada since 2002, Andy completed his MDiv at Emmanuel College at the Toronto School of Theology, after undergraduate studies in economics and philosophy. Having recently returned to the Maritimes after completing his PhD in theology at the University of Edinburgh, Andy now serves the Oak Bay Pastoral Charge in southern New Brunswick. He is also the recently published author of Tillich: a guide for the perplexed, a study of the concepts of one of the 20th century’s most famous theologians, Paul Tillich.

Jenny O’Neill has been coming to Berwick with Andy since 1996, when she was a vocal performance student at Acadia University. Since that time, she has been trained in and practiced behavioral therapy with autistic children, been a classroom assistant at Edinburgh’s Royal Blind School, finished her teachers’ training at the University of Edinbugh, and taught at various schools in Edinburgh, most notably George Heriot’s School, after which J.K. Rowling’s “Hogwarts School” is modeled. (Jenny even ran into Ms. Rowling a couple of times because her daughter attended that school!) Jenny currently teaches French immersion at St. Stephen Middle School.

Andy and Jenny are very happy to be leading the youth program at Berwick Camp for the next few years. Having been devoted campers for years only makes them more excited to be a part of things again! Be sure to stop by and visit when you’re on the way by our cabin, or say hello when we’re “looping”. Coming home to Berwick is all about catching up with old friends and making new ones, as we grow and learn together in the Spirit.
