Catherine Faith MacLean

Catherine comes to us from Edmonton where she serves St. Paul’s United Church. She grew up in the Maritimes and was ordained here in 1985.

Catherine earned a Doctor of Ministry in Preaching from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. Her thesis title is Dusting off the Doctrine. Catherine has a hand in writing A Song of Faith, our new denominational statement of faith. As part of her sabbatical last year, she presented a statement at the Rediscovering Calvin: Resources for Renewal Today event in Toronto.

Catherine has served congregations in the Alberta Rockies, in Yellowknife, on the Restigouche River, and in Toronto. She was the theme speaker at Toronto Conference last spring, and recently, a guest preacher in Toronto and London (ON), and Fredericton. In Edmonton Presbytery Catherine coordinates theological reflection and is part of Sacred Emerging, which offers experiences of Sabbath through diverse worship forms. She has been a regular leader at Worship Matters, including a keynote address on preaching and doctrine.

Catherine is married to Rev. Earl Reaburn, the Personnel Minister for Alberta and Northwest Conference, and they have two children, Andrew (18) and Hannah (16) - and two dogs. Catherine reads widely and devours novels.
